Sonnet: Tree Hill

I think I’ll wander up to old Tree Hill
to spend a few unhurried hours there
and walk the trails until I get my fill
of butterflies and scented woodland air

Above the birds and squirrels make their nest
turtles and frogs are seen upon the ground,
and lizards too, but what I like the best
are pigmy goats and hearing how they sound.

I may be an urbane sophisticate
with jacket, tie, and sharp crease in my pants.
but walking through the countryside is great.
It’s off to Tree Hill when I get the chance.

Nearby, the city churns with industry,
but here the voice of Nature calls to me.

Located in the center of Jacksonville, Florida, Tree Hill Nature Center is the perfect place to connect with nature for individuals and families.
